Sasktip Crime of the Month – June 2018

On Saturday evening, June 9th, 2018, Melfort Conservation Officers received a call through the Turn In Poachers Line, regarding a mule deer buck that had been unlawfully harvested east of Naicam, SK. A new model Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab, black in colour, was observed driving away from the area at a high rate of speed, leaving the deer in the field. Approximately 40 minutes later, the same vehicle returned to collect the animal, and was observed leaving the area again. Some evidence was collected at the scene, however Conservation Officers need the public’s help to solve this crime. If you know the person(s) involved, or have any information regarding the vehicle in this case, call the toll-free TIP line 1-800-667-7561 or #5555 from a Sasktel cellphone (phone calls only, no text messages). Violations can also be reported online at saskatchewan.ca/tip. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if your information leads to a conviction.
