On September 13th, 2020, Regina Conservation Officers received a call on the TIPP line about a headless elk located by a landowner. Officers attended and found that a bull elk had been shot in a lentil field and dragged by a quad to a nearby slough, where the head was removed. Evidence suggests the elk was shot with a high powered rifle above the shoulders near the spine, sometime during the week of September 6-12, 2020. A large bull elk had been known to frequent the area during the summer of 2020.
