On October 21st, 2017, North Battleford Conservation Officers received information regarding a large number of migratory birds that had been shot, dumped and left to waste approximately 7 miles east of Unity and 6 miles north along Swarthmore Road. Officers investigated the scene and located 44 Snow Geese, 26 ducks and 3 Greater White-Fronted Geese. None of the meat was removed from any of the waterfowl. Officers were able to collect some evidence at the scene and believe the offence took place between the evening of October 17th and the morning of October 18th, 2017.
