On the morning of October 15th, 2020, La Ronge Conservation Officers discovered the gut pile of a moose in the Wappawekka Road Corridor Game Preserve, along with some discarded litter, near the 30km mark. Officers believe the moose was shot between October 13th and 15th and that the suspects backed their truck into the East ditch of the Wapawekka road (Highway 912) to load the moose and would have been in view of any other vehicles traveling down the road. Officers did collect some evidence at the scene, but are asking for the public’s assistance to solve this case.
