Spiritwood Conservation Officers received a complaint from a local trapper that someone had shot and taken a wolf from a leg hold trap in the provincial forest in the vicinity of the Cowan Lake Road Corridor. Trail camera photos showed two different snowmobilers in the area. One on February 19th, 2021 going down a trail and returning a short time later. The other on February 20th, where the snowmobiler appears to have a firearm slung over their shoulders. The trap was checked on February 24th, where snowmobile tracks and blood were located. Conservation Officers are requesting assistance in identifying the individuals operating the snowmobiles in hopes of speaking with them.
