  • In 2014, the Ministry of Environment’s Resource Protection trailer travelled to 20 various events and reaching a combined audience of approximately 50, 000 people.
  • Crime of the Month is aired on CTV stations across Saskatchewan on the third Thursday of every month
  • The online Hunting and Angling Licence (HAL) system was aired in the spring of 2013.
    • Approximately 35% of all licenses were purchased online in 2014.

  • The Ministry of Environment launched a new website and online portal at www.environment.gov.sk.ca
    • Aligning services and access to information along with enhancing the protection of the environment
    • Allowing any resource violations to be reported online through the TIP program
  • In the spring of 2013, the Ministry of Environment introduced Hunting and Angling Licence (HAL) system initiative
    • Allowing the hunters, anglers and trappers to purchase their licenses online through their home computer, a licensed vendor or by phone through a call center

Highlights from 2011

  • As a result of Turn in Poachers calls, there were 38 charges laid in 2009.
  • On July 27th, 2009, a report was made to the Turn in Poachers line about a moose being shot and left to waste in a slough near Carrot River.
    • A SaskTIP advertisement was placed in the local newspaper and posted in nearby communities about the incicent.
    • As a result, the public reached out with information on the suspect.
    • The suspect was identified, admitted to the offence and was fined $980.
