On December 8, 2023, between 5:30pm and 5:40pm, 3 rifle shots were heard near a farm residence along highway 4, west of Meadow Lake, SK. Legal hunting time had ended at 5:25pm, and there was no big game season open on this day. Shortly after the shots were heard, a vehicle was observed driving west bound on the Four Corners Grid, but no description could be obtained due to low light conditions. The next morning, a cow moose was located shot and left in an alfalfa field on the west side of the highway. Conservation Officers collected evidence at the scene.
