On September 21, 2024, Conservation Officers were made aware of a gill net that had been abandoned in Churchill Lake near the community of Buffalo Narrows. Officers were able to locate the net and remove it from the water. The net was full of fish in various states of decomposition. It is estimated that the net had been set sometime during September 10-17, 2024.
A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the discovery of who is responsible.
