On Sunday, October 22nd, 2017, Candle Lake Conservation Officers received a call that a cow moose had been shot and left to waste in the Candle Lake Game Preserve, approximately 30km northeast of the town of Candle Lake, near the Snowfield Road. The moose was located in a cut block near the Sasktel cell tower. It appeared to have been there for approximately two days. The Candle Lake Game Preserve is a protected area and is not open to any hunting. Officers attended the scene and were able to collect some evidence, but are asking the public for help.
