On May 3rd, 2019 Spiritwood Conservation Officers received information of a Turkey Vulture that was lying dead on an approach. Conservation Officers attended the location north of Shell Lake, just off Highway 695, on the South approach of land location SE 04-51-08-W3. Officers determined that the Turkey Vulture had been shot and killed with a shotgun sometime between May 1st and May 2nd, 2019. Turkey Vultures are a protected species.
