On June 28, 2019, Dorintosh Conservation Officers received information of shots being fired on private land, Northeast of Dorintosh on Tower Road. Officers attended and located a gut pile from a cow elk along with an unborn fetus. A black truck was seen leaving the area shortly after the shots were heard. Two vehicles then returned about 30 minutes later and an ATV was used to retrieve the elk from the field.
