On May 3rd, 2019 Spiritwood Conservation Officers received information regarding a turkey vulture which had been found dead on an approach along Highway 695, North of Shell Lake, SK. Conservation Officers attended the location and determined that the turkey vulture had been shot and killed with a shotgun sometime between May 1st and May 2nd, 2019. It is illegal to hunt and shoot turkey vultures, which are a protected species in Saskatchewan. Conservation Officers need the public’s help to solve this crime.
