On Saturday, July 18th, 2020, Wadena Conservation Officers received a call regarding a bull elk lying dead in a field Southwest of Kelvington. The elk was located approximately 4 miles East of Highway #35 and 1.5 miles South of Highway #49, in the RM of Sasman. The land location of the violation was the NW 30-36 12 W 2nd. Upon investigation, it was determined that the elk had been shot with a small caliber rifle and left to waste, sometime between 9am and 11am on July 18th. There was no elk season on during this time.
