On September 20th, 2020, La Ronge Conservation Officers were made aware of shots being fired the previous night around 9:00pm near the junction of Highways #165 and #912. Officers attended the area and located a fresh moose hide, South of the junction along the #912. This area is part of the Wapawekka Road Corridor Game Preserve where hunting is not permitted. Evidence suggests the moose was shot while standing on the travelled portion of the road. The vehicle involved was travelling South bound at the time of the offense.
