Saskatchewan is home to an abundance of wildlife and game birds and in order to maintain these healthy populations, hunters often require access to private land during the hunting seasons. Unfortunately, many Saskatchewan land-owners incur financial loss from property damage caused by unauthorized access to private and posted lands. Activities such as driving vehicles across hay and crop fields, cutting fences, leaving access gates open and discharging firearms too close to buildings are intentional activities that are disrespectful of private property. Hunters owe it to the landowner to seek permission and take all the necessary steps to ensure that access to their property is responsible and considerate.
If you have witnessed or know of persons involved in such activities, call the Toll-Free TIPP line or #5555 from a SaskTel cellphone.
