On September 10th, 2020, Prince Albert Conservation Officers responded to a gut pile located in a canola field 3km East and 1km South of Bellevue, SK. Officers attended and found a fresh elk gut pile and ATV tracks used to drag the elk out. Evidence was collected from the scene. There was no elk season on at the time. While swathing the canola on October 4th, 2020, older remains of a bull elk were also located. Officers believe these remains were from a bull elk that was shot back in September at the same time as the elk from the original gut pile.
