On October 16, 2025, Saskatoon Conservation Officers received a call through the Turn in Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) hotline. Officers responded to the Blucher area and found 142 dead migratory birds dumped on private land near Patience Lake, approximately 30km southeast of Saskatoon. All edible meat had been left to waste.
Hunters have a moral and legal obligation to harvest the meat from wildlife they hunt. The waste of over 100 migratory birds constitutes a provincial and federal offence. It was determined that the violators also did not have permission to access the land where the birds were dumped. Saskatoon officers are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of the vehicle shown in the attached photograph, and in providing any information regarding those involved.

A cash reward of up to $2000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individuals involved. Anyone with information about this violation should contact the provincial Turn in Poachers line at 1-800-667-7561. Calls are not traced or recorded in any way and callers may choose to remain anonymous. You can also report online at saskatchewan.ca/tipp.
