On May 4th, 2024, Nipawin Conservation Officers received a call on the Turn in Poachers and Polluters Line. The call stated that a bull elk was dumped and left to waste within the town of Nipawin. Upon investigation, it was determined that the head of a 5×5 bull elk and the front half of the elk carcass had been dumped. Officers believe that the bull elk was shot in the fall of 2023 and that the carcass had been hanging until it was dumped. Distinct tire tracks were present at the scene.
