On May 24, 2024, Pinehouse Conservation Officers located a black bear carcass in the village landfill. The bear’s head and both front paws had been removed. There was no indication that the bear was shot in a different location and dumped. Conservation officers would like to speak to those responsible to understand the circumstances surrounding this bear’s death.
