On May 2, 2025, at around 2pm, a resident in the RM of Weyburn was working in his yard when he heard gun shots north of his location, 9km south of the Weyburn Golf Course on Range Road 2142. A few minutes later, a dark coloured truck travelling south stopped near the resident’s driveway and shot a small caliber firearm within 90m of the residence, and onto land that the suspect did not have legal access to hunt on. As a result of this dangerous act, a horse was shot near where the farmer was working. The vehicle sped away southbound from the scene. The witness described a black or dark blue 1990’s model Chevrolet truck as being involved.
