On January 11, 2026, Humboldt Conservation Officers discovered four coyotes that had been pursued and deliberately struck by snowmobiles approximately 11km east of Lanigan, SK. Two of the animals were still alive but severely injured and had to be humanely euthanized on-stie. Evidence collected at the scene indicates that all four coyotes were run over by the same group of snowmobilers.
