On May 21, 2023, Leader Conservation Officers located a female pronghorn antelope that was shot out of season and left to waste 3/4 of a mile north of Leader on Range Road 3263 (the old Leader Ferry road). The pronghorn antelope was approximately 50m east of the road in a stubble field. Officers collected evidence from the scene and determined that the pronghorn antelope was shot late in the day on May 20 or sometime on May 21.
