On June 7, 2023, Buffalo Narrows Conservation Officers received a Turn in Poachers call reporting a cow moose had been shot along Highway 155, 9km south of La Loche on the evening of June 4. The cow moose was accompanied by a young calf at the time of the offence. Officers attended the scene and located a dead calf moose and other evidence indicating the cow moose was shot from Highway 155 within the Road Corridor Game Preserve. Officers are looking for any information relating to this offence.
