On February 23, 2024, Regina Conservation Officers received information regarding a cow moose that had been unlawfully harvested on private land approximately 6km north of Zehner, SK. Officers believe the moose was killed sometime between Thursday, February 22 and Friday, February 23, 2024.
There was no moose season open during this time and was killed within 500m of occupied residences. The moose was barrel dressed (four quarters removed), and officers noted that the cow was pregnant at the time of harvest, leaving behind a formed fetus.
