On April 17, 2026, Loon Lake Conservation Officers received a Turn in Poachers call regarding piles of fish carcasses that were dumped in the ditch approximately one mile east of Cleeves, SK. Officers believe that the carcasses were dumped between 10:30am and 4:30pm on that day. The dumped fish carcasses are unlawful under The Wildlife Regulations, as they act as an attractant for dangerous wildlife in an area frequented by people, which poses a safety concern to the area residents, their livestock, and property. Secondly, this improper disposal is also considered littering, and these materials should be disposed of properly in garbage receptacles.

A cash reward of up to $2000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individual(s) involved. Anyone with information should call the toll-free Turn-In-Poachers and Polluters line at 1-800-667-7561. Calls are not traced or recorded, and caller information is kept confidential. You may choose to remain anonymous. You can also report online at saskatchewan.ca/tipp.
