On April 21, 2026, Spiritwood Conservation Officers received information that a black bear sow and cubs had been shot and left to waste near Lorenzo, SK. Officers investigated and located the deceased bears along with a domestic cat. The bears were located at the entrance to the den they had been utilizing for their winter hibernation. Officers believe the bears were shot on the evening of April 19, 2026.

A cash reward of up to $2000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individuals involved in the following violation.
