Cow and Calf Moose Shot and Left in the Meadow Lake Area

On February 1, 2018, Meadow Lake Conservation Officers received a call about an injured cow moose, off the Matchee-Neeb Road, north of the Meadow Lake OSB Mill. Officers attended the area and found the calf moose and also a cow moose. Both had been shot with no attempt to retrieve them, leaving the animals to waste. Some evidence was collected at the scene. In addition, the moose were shot on private land.
