Sasktip Crime of the Month – March 2018

On December 19th, 2017, Hudson Bay Conservation Officers received information through the TIP line that an animal had been shot and left in a field, approximately 11 km west of Bertwell, SK on the north side of Highway #23. Officers investigated the scene and located a bull elk approximately 200 yards into an open field. The elk had initially been wounded, a vehicle then drove up to the bull elk, shot it again and left it to waste. Conservation officers collected some evidence at the scene and believe the elk was shot in the morning of December 19th.
