On August 18, 2018, Melfort Conservation Officers received information through the TIP line regarding an animal that had been shot at in a field and a vehicle driving onto private land, through a standing wheat crop to retrieve it.

Officers investigated the scene 3.5 miles North of Struthers Lake and determined that the animal was unlawfully harvested between August 15 and August 17. Officers also determined that four shots were fired from a rifle, and the vehicle then drove into the field and loaded the animal without processing it. There was no hunting season open during this time.

Conservation Officers need the public’s help to solve this case.
