On May 25, 2024, Buffalo Narrows Conservation Officers received a Turn in Poachers call about an untagged bear carcass found with parts removed on a trail off Highway 925 towards Dillon, SK. Officers located the carcass and noted that the upper and lower jaws, gall bladder, three legs, and left hind paw had all been removed, with everything else left. It appears that the bear was harvested in another unknown area and dumped at this location sometime between 4:30pm on May 24 and 12:30pm on May 25, 2024. Based on the parts removed, trafficking in wildlife is a possibility, but cannot be confirmed at this time. Officers would like to speak with the person who harvested or dumped this bear carcass.
