On November 23, 2025, Humboldt Conservation Officers received a call through the Turn in Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) hotline. Officers responded and found a bull elk that was shot and left to waste 6 miles south and 2 miles west of Plunkett, SK. There was no open season for bull elk and Conservation Officers believe the person responsible was hunting antlerless elk at the time. All of the edible meat was left to waste.
