During the early morning of November 15, 2024, Weyburn Conservation Officers responded to a call of a bull elk that was shot and left to waste 19km north of Kisbey on grid road #605, on the west side of Moose Mountain Provincial Park. The elk was shot in front of the large, dry slough approximately 200m east of the intersection where the #605 turns east. There were no tracks around the elk, indicating that the responsible person shot from the road. While there are a few big game seasons open at the time, either-sex/bull elk is not one of them.
