A man from the Assiniboia area faces two counts of unlawfully hunting, two counts of waste of game, and one count of hunt without landowner consent.

On September 27, 2025, Nipawin Conservation Officers were notified that a cow elk had been shot and left to waste near Aylsham, SK. Officers attended the location and collected evidence. Officers believe that the elk had been shot sometime between the evening of September 24 to September 26. There was a draw elk either-sex season on at the time.

A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individual(s) involved.
