On November 4, 2025, Yorkton Conservation Officers received a report of a dead white-tailed deer 7km west of Yorkton, near Highway 52. Investigating noted the deer’s throat was cut and was field dressed with the entrails removed; however, it was left to waste with no meat taken. Officers believe the deer was dumped sometime around Sunday, November 2. Officers collected evidence at the scene and identifying those responsible is a top priority for the Conservation Officer Service.
